Ian Whitby takes up the new position of the CB Coaching Coordinator
Eastern Counties are delighted to announce the appointment of Ian Whitby as the ECRU CB Coaching Coordinator (CBCC). This role has been created as a direct result of the Eastern Counties RDOs & CRCs support being removed following a recent RFU restructure.
Ian will be the go-to person at Eastern Counties RU for club coaches and coaching coordinators. One of his primary responsibilities is to liaise with County & Club Coaching Coordinators and the RFU Coach Developer & Training manger to support the training needs of coaches and to support the development of coaching initiatives in Eastern Counties across Norfolk, Suffolk & Cambridgeshire. Ian will help ensure that the Club & County coaching coordinators are kept up to date and directed towards coaching courses and conferences.
On being appointed Ian said: “I am delighted to have been appointed as the Eastern Counties CB Coaching Coordinator, In both my Club position and CB position as a Team Manager I fully believe that coaches are the key to our game, without good coaching players do not reach their full potential and are likely to exit our game. I am looking forward to working with our Club & County Coaching Coordinators to assist them with the development of their club coaches.”
Ian starts his role with immediate effect in preparation for when we eventually return to rugby.
