Eastern Counties RFU, in partnership with the Rugby Football Union (RFU), is seeking an experienced and motivated coach to lead the U16 Girls Player Development Group (PDG) as part of England Rugby PDG Programme.
This exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of girls' rugby, supporting talented young players on their journey through the England Rugby Player Pathway.
Key Responsibilities:
• Programme Delivery: Deliver the national PDG curriculum in line with RFU standards and objectives, ensuring high-quality, player centered coaching experiences.
• Collaboration: Work effectively with the PDG coaching team, Team Manager and parents. Fostering strong relationships and a shared commitment to the development of every player.
• Talent ID and Progression: Oversee and support talent identification processes including, introduction session and assessment days, selecting promising players into the PDG environment and tracking their development.
• Player support: Ensure players receive individualised development plans and regular, meaningful feedback to guide their rugby journey.
• Ongoing Development: Engage in personal and professional development opportunities, including national PDG coach development sessions and actively reflect on your own and others coaching practice.
Qualifications & Skills:
• RFU ERCA or above
• RFU DBS clearance
• RFU First Aid certificate &Play it Safe safeguarding qualification
• Experience working with youth players with an understanding of player centred coaching
• Strong Communication and mentoring skills with players, parents and other coaches
• Knowledge of physical and psychological development stages of adolescent athletes
