Eastern Counties Rugby Union

Alec was a strong supporter of Rugby in our area for many years;
Alec was President of Cambridgeshire RFU from 1999-2001 and was twice Chairman – from 2001-2004 and again from 2006-8. He also served as the Cambridgeshire Representative on EC Management from 1991 until 2010.
Over many years of involvement with rugby in the Eastern Counties Alec was an active member of Cambridge RUFC, Shelford RFC, Lowestoft & Yarmouth RUFC and Cambourne Exiles RUFC.
It was largely as a result of his guile that Greene King became a major sponsor of Eastern Counties – this association still continues and is one that we are extremely grateful for.

Funeral arrangements;
A Requiem Mass is to be held at 12:15 on 21 May at the Church of ‘Our Lady and The English Martyrs’ Roman Catholic Church, Hills Road, Cambridge, CB2 1JR – all are welcome.
